Springing from the debts
2003-04-11 - 11:42 a.m.

Wow, to be able to walk again, uncovered, through Montreal's streets. This morning I did just that, moseying on over to the local patisserie to pick up breakfast for my colleagues (it's my turn this week). The sun shone down on my hairless head, sending assorted goodness and vitamins into my skin and brain. I sported only a jacket, rather than my winter coat, and was even too warm.

After picking up the goods, I strolled through the vitality of Monkland street before descending into the subterranean haunts of the subway, normally a refuge of warmth in the winter months, but now just a dingy, smelly, underground cavern. In spite of that, it was virtually impossible not to be in a good mood upon arriving at work.

Oh yeah, and I actually got some sleep last night for a change, which helps. I also played music with cf beforehand, which seems to help allay stress to a certain degree. Unfortunately I think I forgot one of the CDs, that I was supposed to borrow, at his place, if I'm not mistaken...

One thing I learned yesterday is that I have to figure out how to say "no" to people. It seems that I'm always too eager to please and end up doing things I don't really want to do because of it. This sows the seeds of resentment and anger, which manifest themselves in unsavory forms of irritation or intolerance.

And if I've been cranky lately, it also doesn't help that:
* I had a hellish January and February dealing with the Evil Ex
* I'm in a new living arrangement with Pinky, something I'm not used to
* Pressure at work is higher than I've ever had to deal with
* I'm kinda broke

No wonder I have drowning dreams

Tonight I’m supposed to pick up the kids for the weekend. I haven't seen them in almost three weeks, and I'm starting to go snakey. I can't wait to pick them up and squeeze them. Tomorrow, we finally celebrate Littlest's birthday with hotdogs, French fries (not "Freedom fries"!), presents, chocolate cake, and maybe a movie. Wahoo!
