I called my kids' school this morning because apparently their mother was "too tired" to go meet the teachers at parents' night last night. I spoke to the head secretary and asked them to put me on their mailing list (again, as I had already done this when they moved there in March).

And last night, when I called the kids, their mother answered and moved from her customary "yeah" (at my request to speak to them) to simply not saying anything and handing the phone over to them. It's amazing how much energy she seems to expend in staying angry at me. Not much I can do about it, I guess... and I suppose on some levels I spend too much time letting myself get aggravated by her, too.

This morning the guy who's selling that duplex called me and encouraged me to look in other areas of town; we can't get around the fact that he's now got an agent selling the house. The fact that I had contacted him months ago, before he got the agent, doesn't give us an out. He's still willing to let us have a look, but I'm sure he's going to be getting offers soon and besides, with the agent involved, the price will be too high.

I keep waking up in the mornings these days worried and stressed. I think a certain amount of it is due to feeling guilty about maybe not quite pushing myself as hard as I should at work... speaking of which, I'd better get back to it.
