More music, and missing 'em
2003-10-30 - 9:16 a.m.

I have two weeks to go before I see them again. The kids want to see the Christmas parade on the 15th, so I pushed their visits back by a week to accommodate them. So this means instead of seeing them next weekend, I see 'em in two weeks. I guess I can console myself with the fact that once this three weeks is over, we're back to the 2 week schedule followed by a week at Christmas.

Also feeling a bit guilty about something else – I was asked to do a one time, one song gig with my old band at their Christmas party at the end of the month. I said I'd do it only because I wasn't supposed to have the kids that weekend, but now I do because of the change in schedule. I feel so crappy when the one weekend I get them, I get a babysitter for 'em. Maybe I should just get over it, I dunno.

(Hey, this wouldn't be geekslut's diary if I wasn't complaining about missing my kids in at least every other entry, no?)

Oh, and Pinky may be our singer for said gig. Stay tuned.

Last night Lead Guitarist and I recorded for the third night in a row. We did some extra stuff for the Celtic demo and then worked on our own stuff. The latter is starting to sound pretty good. The songs are being built, slowly but surely. Some of them now have drums, bass and acoustic guitars done, and it's really cool to see them take shape -- especially the ones that have existed only in my head for the past 6 years.

And I definitely, definitely love recording music every night. I could really, really get used to this.

Tonight we head over to cf and marv's to start recording their parts for the Celtic thing. Wish us luck.
