You sure it's not still Monday?
2004-04-28 - 12:17 p.m.

Oh my. You know, I grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada with my folks every Saturday night, which explains why to this day I still follow hockey, at least in the playoffs, in spite of the fact the game today is not what it used to be.

So last night, I watched the game, and thus bore witness to one of the Habs most crushing defeats ever. (They gave up the tying goal with 16 seconds left, then lost it in the first minute of overtime.) I shouldn't really care about this stuff, but what can you do? Guess I grew up with it and it'll be with me always. Today feels like Monday.

I think I'm cranky for other reasons too, but I'm not sure why. I know I've been laying off work a bit, and that usually makes me feel a little guilty and less worthy or something. I'm also a bit disappointed that the Celtic band appears to be getting the brush-off after what seemingly was a good gig last week. There are many other places we could play, but no one has time to go out and get the gigs. I just hope we haven't done all this work for nothing.

I brought my bike into the shop yesterday for a tuneup, and I'm looking forward to using it to commute to work starting next week. I think the exercise will do me good, so long as I don't get run over.

<bla bla>
