Gigs, Ottawa, Roving Ex, Insomnia, Baby Equipment
2004-05-11 - 1:14 p.m.

Hmm, so what else is new?

The Celtic band got three more gigs at the downtown Pub. That's great news, as it will really help us get used to playing live.

Poli and I picked up a bunch of baby things from her cousins a week ago; we're filling up our storage space as fast as we can make room, it seems.

This past weekend we travelled to Ottawa, which, as close as it is, is getting to be a big trek for Poli and her 6-month belly. We stayed with my parents, visited her grandparents, and I played in the park with the kids on Saturday before Poli arrived (she had to take the bus, as she had a one-time class on Friday night). On Sunday, we tried going to the park again, but a bee kept chasing me. I was literally sprinting around the grounds like a maniac. With Littlest's deadly allergies and the memory of last summer's incident not that far off, we couldn't chance it and had to retreat to the house, which was a shame on such a nice day.

Next week we were supposed to get the kids for the week, but last I heard, Ex has said she's not sure if she's going away (on business). I also heard through Eldest that Ex is looking to change jobs again. This does not sit well with me, as it is Ex's M.O. to move from job to job -- never happy, and never stable. Lord knows what changes she's got up her sleeve next. I know one thing though: If she tries once more to move the kids to another city, I'm going to ask her to let the kids come and live with me, and this time I think I will bring up the idea with the kids themselves. I'm sure they are just as, if not more, tired of their ever-changing addresses as I am.

Monday night I had insomnia again. You know, it almost wouldn't be so bad if I could *use* the time to get stuff done. But it's not like I *feel* like doing *anything* at 3 in the morning, and we live in such a small place that anything I would do would probably wake up Poli. Ugh.

Last night, marv, cf & I jammed. We got a lot done, going until almost midnight, and marva-mum was there to see her son play. She seemed to enjoy it, so I guess we're making progress...

<bla bla>
