Still alive
2004-08-25 - 5:10 p.m. I'm on a conference call. What are the odds I'll actually be able to complete this update? My vacation is over and the working world definitely sucks. I keep telling Poli we should open an ice cream shop, rather than have me schlep into this cubicle every day. Little geeklet is already almost 3 weeks old. Apparently babies grow up even faster when you have them later in life. :-) She is just adorable. I think we all agree at home that we could just eat her up. I mean, not literally, of course. I generally try not to eat beings related to me. Poli is recovering nicely; I swear she gets thinner by the day, to the point where I notice new angles and points of definition returning to her face on a daily basis, along with the reduction in the span of her hips when they support my hand as we sleep in the morning. The kids were with us for the first two weeks of geeklet's life. They had to leave Sunday though; I know I miss them, and I think they found it hard to leave their new sister. Eldest was showing marked interest in what it would be like to live here, and what school she'd go to if that happened. Our bassist broke his hand after having his third accident of the summer, and therefore can't do gigs right now. I strongly urge all one of my readers to sign here and urge him to either give up the bike, or adopt the only mode of surviving on two wheels in Montreal: assume no one sees you, and that even if they do, they'll probably attempt the most unpredictable and stupid maneuver as soon as they get close to you. That includes pedestrians, motorists and other cyclists. Call it the "Save CF" campaign if you will. In the meantime, marv and I have been carrying on without him. Fortunately we can get by, but it'd be better if we were 3 of 3 rather than 2 of 3. We've been taken on as one of the house bands at a pub, which basically means we now get paid to jam once a week, which is pretty cool. Tomorrow I return to a doctor for results of a blood test. They don't normally call you back unless something's wrong, so I guess the news can't be great. At least they said it wasn't urgent.
